Of course it's tragic that a child dies. I find it sad that it comes to this. That said, don't come on a boat. Get access to the country in a proper legal way and this wouldn't have happened. These people cross multiple safe countries to make this dangerous crossing...

Zero sympathy for a 10 year old boy who just died? Really?

I think you are an a adult at 20 and can pretty much do anything in this country.
Defo not "a boy".

RIP to the child.

Zero sympathy for the adults involved who caused the death of a child by putting him in huge danger to escape war torn France.

If only incidents like this served as successful deterrent to others not to be so stupid.

grow up ,
its 100% preventable

the parents decided to leave a safe country and let a 10 year old get in an overloaded dinghy with no life preserver to cross the English channel in Autumn its Darwinism at its finest

Nothing wrong with staying in France ,

It wouldn't have been the child's choice to go across but this is the risk the customers of people traffickers take.

Yep, it’s effectively the same as people who post lol emojis (or worse) on Facebook/X etc. about similar stories.

Whilst there are clearly differing opinions in NP&E, effectively saying you’re happy people have died is a bit beyond the pale.

awful and tragic.

And mostly, unnecessary.

the pull factor is so strong that people are risking their children's lives to go from a safe country to a safe country with much better benefits and a ready-made clan system to plug them into.

None of this should be happening.

As more & more of these Illegal Invaders are allowed to remain here and be housed, clothed, fed and watered, bussed into towns for the day, at our expense, so too will be the incentive for their relatives & chums to come here to the land of plenty and on it will continue.....
