Built my own nearest EV Charger Map

Hello, I have been using my EV for about 6 months. Its a Cupra Born and i like it. What i dont like is that it takes me ages to find my closest charger. I used ZapMap but found it information overload. Instead i built my own for a Claude project that just shows the closest 8. chargers

It has no adverts, no app, no sign up required - just uses public available information.

Looks good, my suggestions

1. Save filter preferences using a cookie
2. Add network logos to the list

It misses three different charge stations from my postcode. ST14, Uttoxeter.
One in Aldi, one in Lidl and a dozen fast chargers at Starbucks.

Misses loads here too. Mostly Shell Recharge and BP Pulse.

Yes I've noticed that. I think anything built within the past year or so is not on the Open charge map. https://openchargemap.org/
I may have to find additional free sources to add them in.

I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve charged away from home, and all of those times have been on a Tesla Supercharger as it’s far easier to just allow the car to work out when and where to charge.

But as this service seems to be aimed at people who seem to be unable to find chargers (god knows how?), not showing the local ones because they are a certain network seems… backwards.

This reminded me that the Swiss government provides real-time charging station data as an open data product:

Commercial use requires permission, but I would imagine they would be very happy to be able to tell that an application developed in the UK can be listed as a user.
