Me too with odd past choices, but I made up for it in my very last few bikes as I'm not doing at the moment.
At times also had odd things Like EN500 Vulcan and VN800 Drifter to tick that box, but more recently (or less as its been a few) T595 and then a T995i both amazing and surprisingly different bikes. The latter was practically like new from a Triumph dealer and felt it. The former was actually more raucous rough and ready and somehow preferable brute, but less smooth overall.
My bike direction could return though, like if I ever ended up on my own and no concerns about passing away - probably end up with more of a touring type of thing with room for a dog on it
