CV8 Fuel Filter

Hi all,

Where are you getting your CV8 Fuel filters from now? No luck at mwp or rock auto. If I get one from aus it costs more to post then the filter, especially when that's all I need. (Decided to go with a k&n air filter now rather than paying for the shipping every service.)

Is there a cross reference that will fit?

You could try any of the following; Walkinshaw Performance, AAS in Newcastle, Topcats racing, Partsworld performance and Lsx performance.
Hopefully one of those can help you out.

Thank you, walkinshaw had 2 in stock. He said they've stopped making them in aus now

Glad you got sorted.
Time to source out another type of filter if you’re going to keep the car long term. I’m not sure but I suspect that an aftermarket fuel filter with the correct fittings will do. In fact you will no doubt be able to change those if required.
I’m not too sure if there needs to be a fuel flow rate to consider especially when you take into account the amount of fuel a V8 can guzzle at WOT.

Yes I was thinking about an aftermarket one with the same size fittings, but I thought the same as you about the flow rate.
Luckily they're not a yearly service item so I'll do some research next time around, as I think all the genuine ones will be gone by then sadly

Should be plenty of aftermarket ones in Australia as there are still loads of Commodores/Utes/Statesmen about.
Ryco are a good aftermarket brand for filters.
VZ Monaro and V2 series 3 Monaro use the same one. Ryco Z586 Fuel Filter
Z160ST is the fancy oil filter. Z160 normal oil filter.
Can see other brands mentioned on Ebay.
I use their fancier Oil filters (Black cover) on my cars occasionally as they are easier to put on and remove than the AC-Delco ones

I ordered 2 ac delco ones from Aus but they were expensive , I put a post up quite a long time ago , I used a k and n one PF2400 which is a lot cheaper and a direct fit , this is based on a big boot monaro
