Land Cruiser F250 FE
Discussion
My 2p FWIW.
I was on the list for the FE as a former Hilux and current (then) 150 series owner but missed out. I was later offered the non-FE edition but passed. It sounds a bit superficial but I hate black interiors on cars. I know the FE was mostly dark, but the brown seats at least lifted it a bit. I had hoped once the initial hype had died off there would have been some expanded options, colours etc, but no. I preferred the white roof and round headlights of the FE over the standard model. It also didn't feel like (beyond the styling) much of an improvement over the 150 series. Same engine & box, same power & performance, same capabilities, same seating configuration, but without the rear air suspension.
I liked and respected my 150 series but never loved it. I tried to convince myself it was 'better' than other options and in many ways it was, but in some ways it was way behind the times in some ways. Unlike the typical large SUV buyer, mine do get regularly used off-road and for towing. Anyway, long story short I went back to Land Rover and bought a FFRR. Honestly night and day in terms of power, comfort, NVH, etc. I never considered the Defender, honestly I just don't like them despite (or maybe because of) being a lifelong Land Rover fan. But those I know who have them seem to like them and there isn't a huge difference in comfort and performance between the FFRR/D5/Defender anyway. I guess it just comes down to which one you feel fits you better.
TL,DR; I wouldn't pay £70k for a FE (especially a used one), I'd buy a Land Rover.
Edit - I just noticed you have an X3, an obviously very road-biased SUV. I would definitely recommend you drive a LC before making a decision as it will feel very different. They are optimised for off-road use and quite compromised on it.

Too much scene tax for a set of round instead of rectangular headlights.
I'd always buy a Toyota over a Landrover, not because they're better at anything, but because so long as you look after them they are still worth decent money after you've had 15/20 years of reliable trouble free use out of them, and the 10 year extended service based warranty is up maintenance is simple either DIY or local competent indy, but you must pay attention to underbody rustproofing.
Thought about an Ineos instead?

First impressions are very good, did a 300mi drive back home with car. Was not expecting a Range Rover and you do notice the engine is not the most powerful or refined when changing speed
What surprised me was how quiet/smooth the engine was when settled on a motorway cruise. Car has a great ride quality and very comfortable seats. It’s a better mile muncher than expected for what it is.
It’s a hugely satisfying car to be in and around, looks are a great balance of modern and retro like a 911. The kids alol absolutely love it.

Yes tho I do understand it s a relatively straightforward swap out on a regular model the FE spec and colour are close to perfect for me
Would like to add the roof rack and lights at some point
