Another police drama with a female detective this time played by Michelle Keegan. I had only intended watching the first episode and ended up being hooked in and binging all 6 episodes. It was much better than I had anticipated.

2 episodes in and enjoying it. Helps that MK is the main character but the story is very gripping. Looking forward to sacking the gym off tonight and watching the rest of it!

Head office was right, it’s a reasonable story well acted.

You can imagine the dilemma and how you might deal with it makes it interesting. My guess is that she would never have made DI in the first place, so she is not stereotypical.

Interviewing the girl accusing a man of indecently assaulting her.
"Touch yourself where he touched you. Show us exactly what he did".
While the other copper in the room is sniggering. Two male officers interviewing a teenage girl who is alleging indecent assault. I don't think so.

Watching this as a result of the positive reviews in this thread. Just finished episode 4 tonight. I’m finding it entertaining enough but there are serious procedural liberties being taken in the production. I know they have to have some artistic licence but there is so much wrong with it.

Police officers interviewing their mates? Male officers interviewing girls about alleged sex offences? Girl is apparently 16, where were her parents/appropriate adults? So much insubordination between the constables and an inspector? Disobedient female officer routinely ignoring her male supervisors orders (pretty typical in police dramas nowadays). Detective walking into crime scene in ordinary clothing when all around her Forensic Investigators are fully suited and masked to protect the scene. It’s more like Coronation Street than a well produced drama.

And that’s just for starters.

I’ll see it through now for the entertainment value.

Half way through now.Liking the series, it raises issues which, unhappily, still exist!People and scenarios like this make me ashamed to be male!Unfortunately, although it may raise people's awareness to what is going on around them, I doubt it will change anything, so, just entertainment.

There's a world in which my Mum who's friends with someone who's been on Corrie for years was going to ask her to set me up with MK many years ago!

I have no idea why I didn't push for that to be something that might actually have been a thing that could possibly maybe probably not have happened.

Of course officers wouldn't interview their friends but they could hardly keep introducing new officer characters to interview.

I'm still watching it, but it's flawed IMO. Do detectives traipse through the woods with search parties? Wouldn't they interview the parents about friends and boyfriends when a girl goes missing, not after her body turns up? I don't think the main characters' acting is anything to write home about. It also seems entirely predictable but I'll see how the rest pans out.
Edit: I watched it all and have to admit, it was better than I expected it to be.

We thought the plot was OK and the acting very good.

There was a final groan in the very last scene which leaves it open for More Blame - it was me!

Aye, not great but the gf enjoyed it and kept her quiet. Me on the other hand, thought it was absolute tripe and typical for a TV drama these days

Yeah, meant too, the wife thinks it's great but in reality it's simply too flawed on so many levels. Still, Blue Lights is back on, so there's that.

They have a critical piece of evidence and can't be bothered to copy the SD card to the laptop it's already playing on. Laughable.
