I have a Worcester Bosch 8000 Greenstar Boiler. It is about 6 years old. It has performed, up to recently, faultlessly since installation. It has been serviced every year by the original installer.

When it was installed the installer wasn't happy with the pressure at the Meter and so he called out Wales and West Utilities to install new pipework between the Main and the Meter. The pressure was then ok and the installation was completed without further issue.

He came to service the Boiler yesterday. Pressure at the Boiler was down about 3 units (Pascals?) from last year. The pressure at the Meter was also down.

Earlier this year W&W Utilities replaced the whole gas main in our road. When I was talking to one of their people he did mention that the connection between my supply pipe and the Main had not been good. All works in the Road finished a couple of months ago. My installer has told me that i should have 18 units of pressure at the Meter. It is about 20% less than that.

When works were ongoing and my connection had been completed someone from the Company came into my house to check the operation of my Boiler and Gas Stove. He was happy with the results.

My installer checked the Gas Rings while he was with me and lit all four of them. He didn't think that the fourth, smallest, one was quite as good as the other three which he thought were all ok.

The Boiler does need its Electrodes replacing and this will be done next week. Presumably this would not have any effect on the pressure issue?

He is also going to call out W&W Utilities to adjust the pressure at the Meter.

If there are any installers reading this could you suggest any likely causes for this problem? For example when my connection was completed could any foreign bodies have got into the supply pipe and caused a partial blockage?

You should have minimum of 18,5 mb at meter and no more than 23 , you should also only have 1mb between meter and boiler , so if 18. 5 at meter then you should have no less than 17.5 at boiler with it on , if you have less than 18.5 @ meter then your installer should phone 0800111999 and report low pressure , An Fco will then attend and do some checks and resolve the problem, if the pressure at meter is then ok and pressure still low at boiler then your copper installation pipework is undersized ,,
What area / city are you , did WWU move your meter and do pipework????

Turned out to be the Regulator on the Meter. The Meter wasn't very old.

I had this issue last year. The minimum is 18.5 mbars and it was down to 14. They simply adjusted the regular job done.
