2003 Porsche 911 (996.2) Carrera 2 Manual
Discussion
Good Evening
I will recheck the history paperwork when in my office tomorrow, my recollection is that there is nothing to confirm these works completed, but if there is anything I will revert with the detail.
The engine and drive train sound and operate in perfect working order, as far as I am aware there is nothing to suggest any issues?

The advert says servicing mostly OPC but looking at the summary page most of the servicing is by A Parker starting in 2007, who is that, never heard of them and would they even be qualified to answer the IMS question above. Please clarify the credentials of A Parker or link to their garage. Thanks

Thank you for your comment. The listing advises the service history is "spread across official Porsche Centres (Wilmslow, Bolton, Chester) and marque specialists"A Parker refers to servicing organised by the previous Owner. The seller is not aware who this relates to, possibly Parker & Parker AKA Porsche Kendal ( now South Lakes) owned and run by the Parker Family for years. But we can not substantiate this. We will try and endeavour to find out who A Parker refers to.
Importantly the car is currently being serviced and checked by Porschemode of Bristol to ensure the car is in the best place for any new owner.
Good luck with your bidding everyone.

None at all I just turned 60 and haven’t had one of these for 10 years - saw this did my due diligence from a distance and decided I’d like to buy it (I have a number of cars) the car is in my opinion ‘Mint’ but sadly for me - age and my height too small for me to sit in comfortably for any length of time.
So have decided to get the major service done and brake fluid change which has been done today which is what this quality of car deserves, and pass it on to someone who can use it and enjoy it.
When I pick the car up on Monday midday, I will send the updated paperwork to PistonHeads which can then be published on the listing.

Lovely colour, C2 was the first Porsche i ever drove back in 2002 from Geneva to Lyon for work, it was a friends and was a great drive to/from.
Please can you clarify the invoice from PorscheMode as the picture is quite blurry. GPT have said this in the advisories, the worst being the rear chassis and the beginnings of coolant pipe joint issues and power steering hard line leaks.
Nothing yet on IMS/RMS as engine not been out yet?
Thanking you.
Advisories / items noted
ADV, Advisories
Front shock absorber bodies corroded.
Front caliper faces slightly corroded.
Rear exhaust seams badly corroded.
Exhaust manifold flanges to block corroded.
Minor power steering leak from metal to hose union.
Minor staining of coolant from hose to middle water hose? (this line is quite blurred)
Tyres dated 2013 all round.
Nail in O/S/R tyre.
Spark plug threads corroded.
Rear upper dog bone arm inner bushes swollen and perished.
Corrosion to rear chassis support bars.

Your list is correct - the information was not imparted to me as disastrous by any stretch. I am informed that one of the chassis support bars does have a very small area of corrosion that will require some attention.
Thanks for your enquiry hope this clarifies - I would point out this is a low use example and is now 23 plus years old.
Kind regards
Steve

I am a bit puzzled as to why the car is described as having received a "full suspension refresh" when 12/16 suspension arms were not replaced and neither were the shock absorbers, while the springs which generally do not perish were. Some very daft decision making by the owner at the time.
To answer your question these are advisories - so they have done their job properly. Most I was told at time of collection were not of immanent concern they are advisories.
The chassis support member ( I think he referred to it as a dog rail ? Is £250 I presume plus fitting I don’t know.but I would be doing that if keeping the car.
Probably the best solution would be to discuss with Porschemode - I have nothing to hide - would not have had the car serviced and posted the invoice if I did.
Lastly given just a major service and brake fluid change is thick end of £1000 I would always have a reasonable amount of funds available to correctly care for a 911 or something similar. I appreciate this also included a bore score report !
If you are looking for a really super low mileage car that is 23 years old and presents as new ( and as with all 23 year old cars )will from time to time require maintenance, replacement of parts etc then this is a fabulous option.
Happy hunting
