Mr Siga lint free microfibre duster

I have one of these and it seemed to work OK for a few uses, but now it just pushes the dust around and leaves lines of dust on the car. Knocking it to remove dust doesn't help; does it need to be sprayed with something and if so what?

Maybe try wiping it with a microfiber cloth to see if it removes trapped dust but it's probably just the way it works. Can't see that making it damp would help.
If the car is kept inside consider a soft cover.

They need to be dry to work.

Try giving it a vacuum, if that doesn't work put it in the washing machine without any conditioner and just a little detergent.

This is for car shows - the car is clean when I leave home but dust often gets on the car either on the approach or during the day. Last Sunday's event was on a big dry playing field and the dust was terrible.

I'll try the cloth, vacuum and washing machine options in due course! What it really needs is some static...

A static type duster may work, not sure how stiff the bristles are though.

I think static is the answer. I need the opposite of anti-static spray, or ballon to rub it on

The Mr Siga brush was £15 and is barely a month old; I wasn't expecting to bin it and buy something else

PS Bodywork is carbon fibre; maybe that's why it doesn't work?

The answer is a flash dust magnet... brilliant things. Their ability to attract and capture dust is great. Once dirty, just bin.
