Why did Suzuki never use the Sheene livery

Yamaha, used various liveries my XJR1300 is a Kenny Roberts inspired paint scheme.
Some of the Sheene paint schemes were great, but I don’t remember any replicas. I know there have been a few done privately and they looked great!

By the time Suzuki started selling race reps the blue and white theme was established and those Heron colours were old hat and very different to how the new stuff looked. It’s basically 70s which is a long time ago.

I’ve seen a few bikes in those colours done by Dream Machine and they look good but it’s not corporate current enough for Suzuki to risk doing a factory version like you used to see Repsol ‘blades etc.

The most recent Heron Suzuki rep i've seen wasn't even on a motorbike, it was on a mountain bike. Nigel Page who is Nukeproof's team manager is a big Sheene fan so they painted his bike to match the Heron colours.

First pic above is of the RGB652 that Suzuki built for Sheene to continue riding in F750 for a while

Hate to say it but the scheme is one of the worst race reps out there ,
the original bikes it’s fine on but having seen these schemes on GSXRs and Hayabusa’s, they look terrible IMHO…

Now a Pepsi or Lucky Stroke RGV or Yoshi rep is a different matter …

The Heron team paint was awful, even back in the day before wraps and computer aided graphic design. And like a bottle of pop, it hasn't got better with age...
On the simple RG 500 shape, it's nothing great but on a bike with more curves, cuts, lines and features, it's just messy and jarring....

There were Dunstall Suzuki triples in Heron colours that I seem to recall being sold as official Suzuki UK models.

Possibly the Gs750/1000 as well.

My favourite colour scheme for the RG500 was the Skoal Bandit Green and White. These were available from Suzuki as part of the range.
