The proposed tramway to run along the Uxbridge road. The traffic chaos will be a bloody comedy.

Good film but not an "Ealing Comedy". It was made by the Associated British Picture Corporation at Elstree Studios.

If you liked the original you perhaps don't want to see this one - www.imdb.com/title/tt0462519/

I cannot decide - I loved the "Ladykillers" It was pure genius of black comedy und Alec Guinness was just superb.

Und there was also "Lavender Hill Mob" "Kind Hearts und Coronets" "Whisky Galore", "Man in the White Suit" und "Passport to Pimlico"

I just cannot decide which as I have all on video und can watch all over und over....

Been lurking on this site for months but have to come out of the closet on this one: does no-one else rate the Titfield Thunderbolt?

Yes on 2 DVDs

DVD 1 - The Ladykillers/Kind Hearts and Coronets/The Lavender Hill Mob/The Man in the White Suit.

DVD 2 - Hue and Cry/Passport to Pimlico/The Titfield Thunderbolt

Try online places like Amazon if you can't find them in the shops.

Hmmm, seems there's quite a few Ealing fans on PH.
I was coming home from London a while back and thought I'd drop in on the location of the house for the Ladykillers. I was gutted to find that the street was demolished years ago and lots of nasty flats fill the area.

I love them all. Probably because they remind me of the England I grew up in and because the are bl**dy funny, without being coarse in any way.
