Hello Guys

Just wondered if any of you have recently swapped out your HD drive to a SSD in an early 991 ie pre jukebox?

If so please can you let me know details of what kit you used? As I’m not sure what the best route is today!

I did a lot of research before I had the car and Gemini reported that the early cars don't have a lot of space so you need to be careful about the size of the caddy and chipset.

I should add I've not fitted this yet!!!! however I did fit a Mr12volt and the info about the space for a caddy looks accurate.

The Ableconn adapter/chipset seems to be widely recognised as the ideal part from my non Gemini research like Rennlist.

Just got back and have a busy few days but will try ASAP. I bought a reverse camera and intend to install the cables on the Mr12Volt when I swap the HDs. I can then run the cables to the rear bumper when I do some other works like a new BMC air filter.

Like the info on HDs I did a lot of research and I found that NM Automotive make two high quality cameras, one that's a center mount, which requires drilling a hole in the underside of the number plate cutout, and one that replaces the number plate light.

I opted for the number plate version as the the reviews said the slightly off center provides a better view of the kerb. Not 100% sure how much of a difference it makes.
