We've just got back from a test drive. Dealer had a V1 in the showroom, and a VZ Extreme demonstrator.
Even the low-spec V1 looked like a premium car.
The VZ drove very nicely. Fast, refined, decent ride. Only negative was the front seats which looked a bit brash with the greeny-yellow patterning and the high boosters.
The intelligent regen seemed to work perfectly, slowing the car down to maintain a bit of of a gap, and coming to a complete stop if there was a car ahead at a junction, but creeping if there was nothing in front.
In Cupra mode, the fake noises were fine, unless you stomped on the throttle. It did get a bit aggressive on lift off though, with much higher regen.
Fortunately the noises can be turned off completely
In Comfort mode it was just as fast, just needed a bit more pedal.
Despite leaving all the nanny stuff enabled, it never became intrusive (unlike my EV3).
Even the lane assist was just a gentle nudge, not a full-on swerve, if I didn't indicate for a lane change
Impressive.
We placed an order for a VZ in Magnetic Grey with black roof, and optional Drive Pack (360 cameras etc.).
Downside is, 3 or 4 months wait for delivery. Dealer said projected UK sales were 4000, and they've hit 16000 in 2 weeks.

I'm glad to hear that your quest for a more 'Cornwall friendly' replacement for the EV3 has been resolved! Downside is, 3 or 4 months wait for delivery.

I was seriously considering the Raval VZ myself a couple of months ago, but went for a Mini Aceman in the end
as the Cupra colours were a bit boring (black / white / grey, etc).

That's amazing - makes the claim that EV sales are "faltering" elsewhere on the forum look a bit desperate...PBCD said:

Cupra will "never" stray from its greyscale colour palette
...
The new Raval, for example, can be had in white, black, copper, matt grey, matt black, a greyish pearl and a matt green.
