E92 individual audio issues

Picked up my E92 M3 this week which has individual audio but it's clearly not working properly, it sounds comparable or worse than the base audio in my 330. It does have an out-dated carplay setup installed, but I've tried a CD and FM radio and it's still crap. I've scanned it and there's no errors for the amp but I'm getting this fault code "A6F3 - Coding data CRC error". Any ideas what next steps should be? (other than ripping out the carplay which I intend to do asap).
