Am I being a bit of a spoilt brat here or am I right to feel miffed?
My car is booked in with a dealer this week to get work done, this is a Premium brand, who make some nice driver focused cars. They advertise - both the brand and the dealer themselves - that they only use courtesy cars from that brand. On my booking it also listed the model I was getting, along with the chassis No., which was one of their models and quite a desirable car. I was looking forward to driving it.
I dropped my car in earlier on in the week and was given a car from another, cheaper brand. It was dirty inside and out, had belongings and food inside from whoever used it last, and is overdue a service.
I didn t mention anything at the time as I was in a rush, but was going to tell them I was disappointed in both the car and the state it s in tomorrow when I return it.
So what s the consensus, am I ungrateful and away to make myself look like a prat?

It's what I expect from a backstreet garage that you access down a potholed access alleyway behind a bunch of vape, charity and betting shops, strewn with overfilled industrial bins and half torn bin bags, but would consider myself lucky to get a courtesy car because they're only charging £60 per hour. What do you mean you're being charged £190+VAT per hour? So yeah, I'd mention it.

Just to say, it s not that I feel entitled to a decent car, more the fact that their adverts list a benefit of using them as only using Porsche courtesy cars, which obviously isn t the case!

I think had you mentioned it at the time and stood firm, they may have found you a better car - years ago Mercedes told me they had no courtesy cars despite one being booked and when I stood firm their SL demonstrator was wheeled out of the showroom for me (because it was closest to the door).So what s the consensus, am I ungrateful and away to make myself look like a prat?
However complaining after the fact - which I would do anyway - is probably just going to get you a shrug and a sheepish apology unless you really want to kick off about it and demand some form of compensation.

Maybe they ran out of proper courtesy cars reflective of £200 an hour labour rates and gave you a bog standard bodyshop insurance spec el cheapo.
Wouldn't have bothered me but i object to other people discarded filth especially of a smoker has been using it, take ages to get the stench from your hands let alone your clothes.
I had a Kia Pride for several weeks many years ago, really quiet enjoyed the little thing better still if it had been fitted with serviceable rear shockers at the factory.

I imagine there will be something in the small print about subject to availability.
How much are you paying for this courtesy car and how much will you be driving it ?
Whilst I’d expect it to be free of food remnants and litter I’m not sure I’d be too bothered otherwise as long as it drives and is legal.

It used to be the case that the courtesy cars were essentially highly specified demonstrators. The thinking by the dealer being that you'd be tempted to chop in for the better model.
When I ask about a courtesy car at my local BMW dealer I'm told (politely) none available. Sign of the times I guess.

It's not reasonable to expect a 'premium' brand. You get what you're given. It's only for a few hours.
Someone I knew many years got a courtesy car from the Porsche specialist whenever his 911 was in for some work. Always a Golf with a 'My other car is a Porsche' sticker on the back. He didn't mind people thinking he drove a Golf, but giving the impression he had no sense of humour was obviously embarrassing.
