O.P. - what age are you?

Comedy is subjective, for some Citizen Khan or Mrs Browns Boys or The Wright Way would be peak comedy. For others I Love Lucy or Hancocks Half Hour or Life With The Lyons is unbeatable.

Red Dwarf series 1-6 were the best for me.

On a darker side, League of Gentlemen and Nighty Night tickle my deviant funny bone.

I also really liked Friends despite a friend believing that it was a plot by the CIA to mind numb America.

I love a good sitcom. I am currently watching The Middle on Netflix. It’s very good and definitely worth a watch.

Fawlty Towers!?!?! Might not be to everyone's taste but you're publicly admitting that Mrs Brown's Boys, Citizen Khan, My Family etc are better than FT!

I can't believe this needs pointed out, but Blib was being sarcastic.

Here for God knows how long and my first parrot. I'm suitably ashamed. In my defence I'm so tired I hadn't even registered his Best....

Best: Blackadder, Father Ted.

Worst: Dunno really, I tend not to watch things I don't like, so hard to say.

Hard to find anything which beats Father Ted. Red Dwarf, Inbetweeners, Only Fools & Horses, Blackadder come close. Probably not a popular opinion on PH but I'd also give an honourable shout out to Vicar of Dibley. From the US side I do enjoy Friends and The Office.

Worst would have to be Mrs Brown's Boys (from the few minutes I've seen). I've also sat through a few episodes of Miranda and struggled to laugh much.

I won t say best, because as has already been said, comedy is subjective. But some of my favourites include:

Porridge
Blackadder
Yes Minster
Only Fools and Horses
One Foot in the Grave
I m Alan Partridge
Father Ted
The Office (the original)
Peep Show
The Thick of It
The Royle Family (excluding later specials)
Early Doors
The Simpsons (up to series 9-ish)
The Larry Sanders Show

Worst: I don t really watch sitcoms I don t like, but 10 minutes of Mrs Brown s Boys told me enough to know it s not my cup of tea.

I'd also add Spaced to the best sitcoms.

Used to like Game On.

Although short skirted Samantha Janus might have had something to do with it.

Men Behaving Badly must be up there.

Game On... in the same mould .
(SJ lick... & still is.)

NB: Not a big fan of American Comedy... but BBT probably their best export.
(Friends, meh... but definitely not the worst).
