911 dog cage

Probably been done before many times but this might help

Henry my cocker spaniel rides in a solid cage in the Macan that takes up half the boot. Wanting a cage for the 996, i bought a cheap folding Amazon cage. Since a square box won’t fit, I took to the fold out sprung tensioning struts to lop 8” off and bent the hinges to keep a flat front. Pleased with the result and a nice fit under the rear screen. We tested without the mod and half erected and Henry wasn't impressed with the resulting collapse! This is much better and only £36 all in. Off for a trip out now.

Amazon basics. Wanted to test it first. You may struggle with two cockers, but they are friendly and it would work for short journeys! Sorry about the link!

Would need to be two smaller or one larger for my idiots. I think they'll be living it up in the back of the Hilux for the time being.

The larger one is too tall for the roofline and the small one might be a squeeze. Henry is 11 kilos so not overly large for breed. Two would be a squeeze but I’d do it in the Medium for short journeys. He lives in a VarioCage in the Macan and that would take two with ease.

Is there a reason for the box type thing
Would a nice bed not suit better in the back there.

I like the security of a cage. They’re pretty heavy thongs to hit you in the back of the neck. And it’s what he is used to.

think it's mandatory for dogs to be restrained in cars now....

so a cage or a tether.

Here's our lad in our 991 cab, fully secured and protected.

We had two dogs in the back of our 996. We used dog harnesses that were then attached to the seat belts. That set up worked well for restraining them, but not so well in keeping the car clean!
