Sorry to trouble you with another personal type problem but I feel this needs addressing before something dramatic occurs so please hear me out.

I live in a nice apartment and I really thought this was going to be a new chapter in my life. I'm on early supervised release from Rampton Hospital which was much better than Broadmoor but I'm glad I'm out.

My paranoid psychosis is kept under control by 4 different antipsychotic medications which seem to be working as the voices in my head rarely tell me to do bad things anymore and the hallucinations are not as frequent.

However I'm suffering from sleep deprivation, stress, neurosis and delirium caused by the neighbours upstairs excessive noise, this has led to extreme rage and bitterness building up inside me. I have left some polite notes for the people but to no avail, in some strange display of behaviour I was left some choclates and an imbecilic card. This almsot pushed me to the edge, I was reluctant at first to discuss this with my supervisor as I don't want to go back to hospital but I did and they increased my medication and also gave another course of injections like at Rampton except I didn't have to wear the special jacket. The noise continues, I'm at the point of breakdown.
Should I explain this to my neighbours or do I just need more medication ?

I'm sure I read in The Gaurdian today that they were tearing down the largest block of flats in Europe (Aylesbury) tomorrow.

Grab what you need and look for an Ibis is the best advice!

You sound totally rational to me. I'm sure you could have a rational discussion with your neighbours and come to an amicable solution.

Failing that, you could cut them to pieces with a blunt axe

Nice one fella.

As a registered loony I am always amazed at the crappy treatment some folk lay on their neighbours. Don't they realise that I am 'this' close to going over the edge and about to murder them in their beds?

Anywho (true story)

The manager of a band I was roadying for is a black belt in tae kwon do and reckons himself pretty hard. He lived in a block of flats but was getting pretty pissed off with the gungle music from downstairs till 5 in the morning. One night it all got a bit much. Grabbing his trusty baseball bat he kicked in their door and screamed his way into their living room where he smashed their turntable and screamed in their faces that enough was enough.

About 6 weeks later downstairs was empty. The feds had raided the place....it had been under observation (from another block of flats) for months as a drug dealers pad and several firearms had been recovered. Matey was mortified - he'd been shagging the GF in his living room with the curtains open and was worried that his exploits were being distributed on video @ the local nick

i suggest that whenever your (inconsiderate) neighbours make too much noise, whether it be humping/loud RnB/drunken chav banter -
you thump the broomstick handle on the ceiling until the nuisance stops - or alternatively do they have a pet rabbit?

Fido - you had better be joking. Leave the poor bunny out of this (he's probably just as pissed off with the noise)

Two routes:
1) Door kicking in/baseball bat-meets-stereo method.
2) Report them to Local Environmental health for excessive noise.

Method 1 probably more effective (and more fun) but given your circumstances, think method 2 would probably be your best option.

Also, regular visits to the PH forums are always a good place to share your thoughts.

Good luck - noisy neighbours get on most peoples nerves at some point or another
