I m getting this message which I suspect is related to exhaust valves given info that can be found. Having said that, I can press the Sports+ button and hear the exhaust note change and the car will go over 3000RPM albeit without any great gusto. No other problem lights, just this message. Is it likely to be the valves? Any other symptoms I could check for?

I had problems with the valves, but there was no message about a loss of power. Only the engine stopped spinning above 3200 rpm, and on Sport+ too. You need to read the error codes.

It’s most likely seized bypass valves in the muffler. It’s a temporary fix but really you most likely need a new muffler, usually is the issue anyway. But yeah best to read fault codes just in case it’s something else.

It is the exhaust valves. AM were able to free them up and it passed its MOT with flying colours. I expect they won’t last long before sticking again but I do now have some options instead of the £4k silencer replacement. The Quicksilver silencers are only £1600 or so (maybe plus VAT). Anyway DAE, McGurks, Aston Works can provide a fix - anyone had a fix and did it last?

I had my exhaust valves replaced by an indy exhaust place up in the NE for SS ones that are supposedly solving the issue permanently. The company was recommended by the AM dealer and have done plenty of these. Few months in and all good so far. Iirc it cost £650 and took a few hours.

I was told at the time that a new backbox assembly from AM would be 8-9 months minimum on backorder so along with the cost savings and actual fix, it was a no brainer to go with a third party solution.

Can you remember where? I ve been quoted £1600+vat for a fix from two different independents so quite a bit dearer and getting on for 50% of the AM price. What car was it?
