Selling a car on EBay advice

Evening all,
I’m selling a car on eBay and feel I’m being messed about.
I’ve already had several scammers, several low ball offers saying how awful the condition of the vehicle is now, some reasonable ones. Let the auction run…sells at a reasonable price. No reply for 24 hours, no call from then, ignored questions RE payment, just 3 4 word answers that feels like running the clock down.
So, what’s everyone’s advice for selling on eBay? Any restrictions, things to detail on the advert, minimum amount of feedback etc. I’ve watched similar cars keep being re advertised…a cynical view I’ve given is that scam accounts bid up people’s auctions to make theirs successful. Funny view but could be possible.

Don’t bother with an auction unless it’s something really rare, if something run of the mill there should be enough comparable to set a reasonable price.
Sell as a classified ad and first person who turns up with the money gets it.
Auctions attract idiots who firstly will bid on anything with no real intention and secondly will just disappear at the end, and eBay doesn’t care.

I've sold about 20 cars and 10 motorbikes in 25 yrs on eBay. Never had anybody fail to pay up, I like the fact you don't need to supply a phone no so you don't get timewasters or scam attempts.
I concur with the auction choice, i only use that option if it simply HAS to go. A classified is cheaper (no final fee), has longer listing time (30 days) and there is room to accept an offer or haggle.
That said, when I have sold using an auction, I've never had anyone fail to turn up although I did have one try to negotiate a lower price.

You will still get the chancers and scammers on the phone or email.
Got to the point I put on ad, only selling to those willing to view, if you do get someone wanting it without viewing they usually turn out to be genuine, have read the terms but discuss the options with you.
