OK team, you'll be good at this.

My younger brother jets off to Basra tomorrow to run around in the sand for 6 months. I sent him a letter today, but was thinking about sending some stuff through to him to cheer him up in the coming months.

He'll be feckin' busy of course, but was wondering if any of you have any good ideas for stuff that he might appreciate in the months ahead - particulalry anybody who has served overseas and had cravings for stuff like Marmite, chocolate, magazines etc etc.

All ideas, both serious and imbecilic are appreciated...

when my missus was out there, she had a craving for those sherbet flying saucers, and 'chewing nuts'

luckily : www.aquarterof.co.uk will deliver out there, and it only takes a week.

just keep on with the letters to be honest tho, it seems better than a phonecall, and e-blueys are free.

Prostitute

EDIT to add that my comment is a suggestion to the original poster, rather than an accusation towards your sherbet-dip-loving wife.

He says his SA80 has a grenade launcher and torch / laser sighting on it. He says it's a fair bit heavier than normal. He also has a pistol strapped to his leg - some Belgium make apparently?

No clue about the body armour - he did say that one of the more recent roadside bombs blew a hole through the amrour plating on a land rover, went through 2 layers of body armour (and the soldier sandwiched between) and the armour plating on the other side of the Landy. Zoiks.

The pistols good, its probably a FN/Browning high power.

the rifle is not so good (SA80A2), but the grenade launcher is excellent.

the body armours good if you've got the optional 'trauma' plates installed.
