Are adastra outdoor speakers any good?
I'm after some wall mounted speakers ideally powered Bluetooth so I don't need an amp or failing that some normal speakers and separate amp. The adastra ones I've seen in some pubs

I’ve got a couple of yamaha ns aw392’s, wired in to the stereo inside on its “speaker B” outputs. I’m impressed with the possible volume (easily enough to upset the neighbours despite a big garden) and sound ok.

Adastra are ok if you don't want anything too hifi. Look at the BH range. They also do some neat little bluetooth amps, they are easy to pair with and sound 'ok'. Look for the IWA2100B 100w amp. Needs power but could go in a waterproof box outside somewhere.

The problem with having 'active' speakers with built in bluetooth is you will need a power supply to the speaker. Not many are IP outdoor rated.

These seem to do what you want - might need to shop around to find them as they're out of stock.

Did you scroll down to the reviews? Doesn't really get much worse :-)

OP - get a small 12v amp if you can be arsed, then look at my profile - I posted photos of my tested setup on here a week or two ago. Waterproof and sounds fab.

I didn't.... sorry, they're not great. frown I was originally searching for Acoustic Energy outdoor speakers - I used to have a pair and they came very close to outdoor hifi - but it looks like they're discontinued. Amazon's Acoustic Research came up whilst looking.

AE certainly made great speakers back in the 80s and 90s. I had AE109's as my main hifi speakers.

Probably not exactly the direction you are looking for, but I wanted outdoor wall mounted.

Instead I've ended up with a sonos move 2 and an outdoor wall bracket for it. It syncs up with indoors perfectly, and when not in use outdoors, I use it in my garage with it on a charging mount.

If you were prepared to use a separate amp, and depending on budget, B&W AM1 outdoor speakers are well regarded and are around £650 per pair from Richer Sounds.

The AM1 replaced their previous WM6 in 2013.

I have a pair of the earlier WM6s mounted on the patio wall. Speaker cable goes through the wall and the amp is inside. They've been there for 21 years and still work perfectly and sound great.
