I heard a murder the other night! Yikes!

This has somewhat freaked me out. And I thought Barnes was a respectable area of London...
On my way to work on the bike today, all traffic was stopped at Barnes common by the Police and flyers handed out. It turns out a body was found in the woods hence the whole area has been cordoned off.
The thing is, very early in the morning a few days ago I heard what sounded exactly like gunshots whilst dozing in bed, about 1/2 mile from where it happened. I remember thinking at the time, that was not fireworks or a skip being dropped, as there were several distinct shots.
I rang the police line with exact details and timing, as I remember looking at the clock at the time, so I hope that info is of some use.
Very scary stuff....I walk our dog in those woods!

My daughters friend tried to save a guy who had been driven into a wall by a car then had his lights punched out (permanently) by a driver in Royston. A man has been charged with his murder and it was all over the local news
Yeah i heard about that the next morning, i live 5 miles from Royston and couldnt believe it when i heard what had happened.
