Saw this film on telly last night - absolutely astonishing! Possibly the best documentary I've ever seen.

Proper plucky courage... However, it was ruined by the fact that Simon, the bloke who cut the rope, does in fact look like Wallace, and I was just waiting for him to shout "Wenslydale", and to see Grommit making a cameo appearence.

The books so much better. Well worth a read.

Didn't put me off mountaineering. The fact you climb stupidly tall mountains in freezing conditions, hang off sheer clif faces and run the high risk of dying, and a fear of heights put me off...

I suppose some peoples minds just work that way, eh

A very moving story indeed, and a fantastic tale of human strength when fighting against all odds.
