Cotswolds SW to N routes
Discussion
I'm up early on Saturday to px my car in Bristol. It'll be motorway all the way down so when I collect the new one I'm thinking of cutting through the Cotswolds.
Rather than getting on the M5 I'm thinking go on the M4 head to Cirencester, then possibly Burford to follow a little of Harry's Garage route. Then I'm unsure whether to head to Banbury and the M40 or carry on past and find a route to the M1 (I'm heading back to Yorkshire). Or head for the Fosse Way. I'm not tempted to go to Clarkson's pub or farm shop they are bound to be rammed on a sunny July Saturday.
Are there any other Cotswolds suggestions? Or ways to travel up and across the country?
Unfortunately, if I choose a scenic route I'll be there noon at the earliest so no chance of missing the crowds. Will it be more frustrating in a new car than enjoyable?
