Insurance during restoration
Discussion
I am going to start a restoration of a classic mini. I will be using a heritage shell and was looking at how to insure the car during the build. Previously I have just used laid up insurance but the heritage shell is a big investment and I want to make sure I am insured as well as I can. What I would really like is a policy that covers the costs of what is being used in an agreed value sense that I can then increase throughout the build as more money is spent. I would also want it to be covered in transit and while at the restorer and salvage rights should the worst happen. I have spoken to footman james and they dont do anything like that saying that their laid up insurance is just market value.
Any suggestions of where to go to get cover and what cover I actually need? I will start a thread once the project has started.

Classicline suggested a fully comprehensive policy to cover what I wanted with an initial agreed value that can then be increased throughout the term as the car progresses. Car covered to be at my property and at the restorers and also in transit and salvage rights (as long as its not an A or B) for £120 through First Underwriters with £100 excess. Was a very easy process to go through and they understood what I wanted covered over and above a standard laid up policy. I will get everything sorted and go for it. Thanks guys.
