I'm ordering a new company car and these three are at the top of the shortlist.

I've driven the Juniper Model Y and found it ok. First EV I've driven and I wasn't blown away but it would more than do for 4 years.

Are the two alternatives better for circa 200 miles a day?

iX3 sure to be better to drive, assuming it's the Neue klasse model, I think what's putting most people off those is 1) long delivery times 2) unattractive leasing rates. If you can overcome those issues, then...

The Tesla supercharger network might hand the Model Y a massive advantage, depending on how and where you intend to charge it, or the iX3's longer range might be really important. Bear in mind that you'll struggle to put 200 miles worth of electrons in from a home wallbox every night, especially in winter.

My advice is take a look at ZapMap to see where your local fast chargers are, and test drive the Polestar to see if that blocked off rear window is a dealbreaker for you - it was for me!

A 7kw home charger can put about 20-25 miles range per hour into one of these cars. Shouldn't be an issue.

On paper yes, but there will be times when you'll want to go out in it after work or do more than 200 miles tomorrow, or when weather really hammers your range, and if you're doing 200 miles a day for 4 years you'll be seeing significant battery degradation by the time you hand it back.

The Tesla isn’t in the same league as the polestar4, nor the BMW. Given that most of the charging network is open, there’s no need to have one. Or just wait for a mega offer where they’re nearly giving them away at £300pm etc

The iX3 would be the Neue klasse model. Waiting lists shouldn't be too much of an issue as I'll take a stock car or just use a hire car until its delivered.

Most charging would be done at home overnight with the option of charging at work. Don't foresee much public charging except when going on holiday / road trips.

I’ve looked at all 3 of these and have driven the Model Y Performance and new iX3. Much preferred how the Tesla drove (body control, grip, suspension, steering, acceleration). Model Y also had more storage capacity if that’s important and the infotainment is excellent. iX3 felt a step up in perceived quality and the panoramic display is a game changer which I prefer to the Tesla or Polestar approach (also prefer it to my previous X5 which had a HUD). Polestar 4 feels really premium inside if it has the nappa leather interior, looks and feels really wide but a nice place to sit (didn’t test drive it though). Personal preference I’d sacrifice the range of the iX3 for the additional performance of the Tesla if it were the performance however if it were the dual motor I’d probably take the iX3.

There are plenty of times where I've arrived home with less than 20% charge remaining (even in winter and sometimes less than 10%) and needed to do the same the next day, and I've had no problems getting the battery charged up enough to do another 200 mile plus journey the following day, even when just sticking to the cheap rate time slot and that's in my BMW I4 M50 which will be much less efficient than the IX3.

even if doing 200 miles every day and sticking with only charging to 80% (I've charged to 100% loads of times and it hasn't ruined the battery) the IX3 should easily manage 200 miles with loads of range remaining and getting it back up to 80% over night should be a piece of cake with a dedicated EV charger.

Probably the iX3 if all costs are similar (assume slightly higher BIK costs on the BMW)

The Tesla hasn’t got additional performance, it’s got a worse ride quality and interior. While still being right wing. It’d have to be the bmw or polestar.

Thought I'd give the Model Y another go, this time a Premium AWD LR.

Much better than the basic RWD model. Better interior, ride quality and performance off the line. I'd happily have one as a daily.

Also test drove the GLC 400 Electric. Very impressive. Fast and comfortable. Interior was typical style over substance Mercedes but generally a nice place to sit in.

How was the refinement in the Merc, I'm thinking particularly about NVH over coarse tarmac ?

I'd really like the relatively compact IX3 but with the refinement of an iX. The Merc seems to be touted as offering that.

(But the lease rates for an iX are lower than any of these other cars at the moment...)

Refinement is high. The cabin is quiet and minimal road and wind noise is present. The ride quality was the best of any vehicle I've been in for a long time.

If an iX is in budget I'd go for that in a flash. 7 series levels of comfort, fit and finish, rides very well and everything works. Designed as a showpiece rather than mass market segment leader.

Currently have a P4 which is a fantastic motorway commuter - fast, extremely quiet, luxurious and well specced - but if the equivalent iX wasn't extortionate on my new works scheme (Arval) I'd go back to an iX.

Just signed up to an M70, 10k miles pa, 1+35, for....
... £756 plus vat pcm. carwow, prices dipped then went back up, my contact managed to just about keep to the price I'd seen, so about £40 a month less than comparison sites currently showing.

Ive got a similar dilemma. co car list just came through. The iX3 is really expensive for similar levels of polestar tech- c 500pm personal cont v 300. I;m very intrigued by an ionic 5n for the 300pm though

I think of the 3 and the Y as 2nd gen EVs they are very very good and certainly better than the first generation of bmw like the ix3 and the i4 and Mercedes EQC but i think the new generation BMWs and Mercedes have moved the stakes on so much that the only way Tesla’s remain competitive is that they’re priced so much cheaper, and the charging network is so attractive

A premium Y is about £48k and a base ix3 is £55k, and if you compared the base Y to the base Ix3 there’s nearly £14,000 in it. So I really do think Tesla products are fighting a class sbove

I'm looking at what to potentially replace my 2022 Model Y with and there's really nothing that offers good value at the moment

Salary Sacrifice on a iX3 / GLC / EX60 is getting close to £1k a month (15k per year) and it's just too much for me.
