DBX auto-park feature

Out of interest, has any DBX owner ever dared to use the auto-park facility? The idea of handing over control to AML's quirky electronics doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. Whilst I'm perfectly capable of parallel parking, I'm intrigued to know how well it works...

You should give the system a try—preferably on a clearly marked street with curbs that aren't too high at the edge of the parking spaces.

I always had fun in the VW when I explained to the kids that from now on I would be steering the car with just my thoughts.

Never tried it in four years of ownership. I did use it a few times in the DB11. It seemed to work well but in practice if the space was big enough for it to recognise it was an easy park for me with the 360 cameras anyway. It is a Mercedes system so perfectly reliable.

I have the feature in my Vantage... at least I think so? I have never tried either, would like to though.

I first had it in my 2015 Jaguar XE - it works well enough but I always found it to be a little slow compared to just doing it myself.

Also, from a Darwinian perspective, it might be better to keep up with judgement yourself for when there’s a necessity.

I’ve used it a few times without problem.

I’d suggest that for the first time, pick a space clearly bigger than the car, so you build confidence in its ability.

For tighter spaces, trust the tech, it will park it successfully; however, be prepared to sit there cringing as it quickly turns from one full lock to the other with the car stationary, listening to the rubber on the asphalt.

You’ll only want to experience that the once!

Never used it so good to hear it actually works.

As an aside I noticed my rear view camera has gone a bit yellow compared to the others, is that a sign of imminent failure?

Worked fine on my 2019 Vantage. Seems to be missing from my 2026 Vantage.
