I noticed that my Datatool hasn't show my bike's location for the past two weeks despite a number of trips.

The bike is kept on charge, so not had a flat battery. Datatool have tried to 'remotely reset' etc. No joy.

My question; The bike starts and runs fine, so whatever the fob on the keyring does, seems to still work ok.

Anyone know how these work? Is it a risk that at some point the bike won't start. Will it just be the GPS bit not working and it's fine (seems that way).

Datatool have offered a replacement for £135 (mine's 5 years old).

Anyone had similar?

It could be worse than just not starting. I had a Datatool alarm fail in lane 3 of the M1 - engine cut at 60mph with no warning. I was fortunate as I was slowing for queueing traffic approaching roadworks, and I managed to push it across the lanes to the left.

Mine was an older model of alarm and certainly didn't have tracking, but its made me very wary of aftermarket alarms. Personally I'd get it changed and checked out.

As an aside, the amount of abuse and honking horns was unbelievable. How anyone thought I had just fancied a park up in lane 1 was beyond belief (roadworks had concrete barrier preventing getting clear of live lanes).
