Just dropping in to say I bought some Hunt wheels in April and for some reason I couldn't get the cassette to seat on the freehub. Kudos to Hunt. Had a chat with them about the issue and the sent me out a second freehub and a set of cone spanners to swap it out. Worked a treat.

I know they have had some bad press in the past, but I run two sets of Hunt wheels and they have both been excellent.

I have to say, I've not heard a bad word about them. I don't go on many forums though. I bought a set of the enduro wheels last year to replace my Roval wheelset. From the box they made a twanging sound, I contacted them and I was told to have the tensions checked. I did and the rear wheel was slightly loose on the drive side. They paid my invoice off and were great about the whole experience. The wheels have been spot on since. I will buy again and highly recommend them, customer service was faultless!

I was torn between Hunt and the cheaper Elite (Aliexpress) wheels for my road bike.
Asked the mechanic at my LBS and to my surprise he was full of praise for the Elite wheels and said almost every set of Hunt wheels he's seen has spoke tension issues.
Nothing a quick tune up can't sort, but given how good the Chinese stuff is becoming, I'm struggling to justify the extra cost of the Hunts.

Before anyone says it - by all accounts the customer service on AliExpress is excellent now too.

Be interested to see how you get on with Elite wheels.

I snagged my Hunts for £325. That's an aero 55mm alloy rim and about 1500g the pair.

For some reason lot on PH seems to hate them. I've only ever had positive experience personally. My carbon MTB wheels have been perfect over the years riding park and racing enduro. And I'm usually between 17.5 and 18.5 stone so not exactly kind to wheels.

Was that new from Hunt? Got a link lol that would be great

Edit - Just realised you said alloy - I'm after CF hence why the Elites are so tempting

A triumph of marketing over quality. They are generic products from the Far East with fancy stickers on.

I'm guessing you mean 35mm.

Exactly, best decision I ever made was to get a set of Hope wheels, been faultless in over 3000 miles
