As titled - I'm trying to correct a poster but when quoting their post & bolding . . . the relevant portion of their post it does not work . . .

Same with italics . . .

Is this a known issue?

Seems to work for me, are you formatting correctly? If you press the multi quote button on my post, you will see how it's done.
Edit, you have to put the letters in the square brackets right up against the phrase you want to bold or italicise, with no spaces

I fudged & managed to do what I wanted.

It could be as you suggest & not snug up against the relevant text . . . Will have a further play tomorrow

Apologies as not on my PC now to be detailed . . .

My last post here where I bolded the text

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

I also wanted to include the immediately following sentence from tele. . . within the same bold syntax

“Which part of that is unreasonable”

Didn’t work for me.

first world internet problems biggrin

Sometimes you have to encapsulate each paragraph, rather than trying to incorporate a whole section of text.

i.e Add the tags around every paragraph, and at each spaced linebreak, start a new set.
