I get that the timing is coincidental, but he was their marketing manager, not their product or styling manager. It's his job to promote the cars, not design or make them, although I am sure he will have some input in that side of things it will be a lot less than other execs who are more directly responsible.

He was Head of Marketing, where his job was to market the products their designers produce.
He wouldn't have had influence over what it looks like, surely that would be the Head of Design?
16 years in the job so seems hugely coincidental that he's leaving just after the Luce was released.
