Hi All
I am coming to the end of my Porsche warranty life span - the 15 yr mark. Actually it is 14 yrs in October 2026 but I cannot extend it for another year because it runs from August to August. Go figure. So time to switch to a Porsche specialist. The car is a 991.1 C2S. I completed the 12 year service at Porsche in August and I am looking for a cracking Porsche specialist in the Hertfordshire area. I like to change the oil every year so this seems a good time to find a good specialist.

I have had a look at JAZ Porsche. They seem to have a good set up and have been around for a while but not many reviews on Google. I have also noticed AMS. They have a lot of positive reviews. I am aware of Friends Green Porsche as well. They seem like a young set up but their videos do demonstrate a professionalism. JZM are as expensive as a Porsche main dealer which defeats the purpose.

Can anyone suggest someone they have used consistently over a few years.

Thanks

RPM Technik are excellent and my preferred choice - but no courtesy car, although they will happily drop you at the train station.
JZM also good, and decent courtesy cars if you book early.
JAZ also a decent set up and very knowledgeable, especially with the earlier stuff.

These are just the ones I have experienced.

Just go to the nearest specialist to you as they end up being much of a muchness

Though have a look at friends green porsche review on 911uk and decide from there unless thats what you meant about being aware of them

Personally wouldn’t go to JAZ with a 991.1

Out of RPM and JZM which I have used both more than once it would 110% be RPM.

But RPM charge Porsche main dealer levels of labour rates.

Hey All

Thank you for all the feedback. I agree that JAZ do focus on the earlier stuff. I think FGP are still too young and experienced ex Porsche mechanics are what I am looking for. JAZ and RPM charge OPC rates so I don't see the benefit.

I have come across https://www.porschespecialistservices.co.uk/ who are based in Chelmsford. They have outstanding reviews and are part of the Porsche network. In addition the savings are because they use OEM from Design911 instead of Porsche parts (unless you request Porsche parts). The whole point of the specialist is about being smart with your money.

Has anyone used them?

I thought RPM’s labour rate was circa £130 ? Porsche Silverstone is £240 ish.

Last time I used JZM which is a fair while ago they were 10% less than an OPC….I’d go to an OPC in that instance !

Based on the quotes posted here over a few years, OPC and specialist service charges can be broadly similar until you start needing extras like spark plugs, belts.

No way I'd be schleping it to another county though unless it's near a place that's more convenient for work.

There are plenty of decent specialists in the South East, with several in HERTS
