Ohme Charger - Scheduling issues
Discussion
I’ve very recently had an Ohme ePod charger installed. Unfortunately I’m having issues with using the scheduling.
My current provider is Fuse and Im on a variable off-peak tarrif that is cheaper 01:30-08:30. Car is Mercedes E300e PHEV with 25kwh battery.
The issue is that i set the in the Ohme app to schedule to start at 01:30 and finish 08:30. It confirms this when I plug in and start the dynamic charging’ session, but a few minutes later it will start charging in the peak time. I can pause this in the app but the cycle repeats a few times and then it seems to accept it and will charge correctly in the set period.
Last night it did the same problem, but didn’t charge at all, however it is showing in my Fuse energy app that it did use 12kwh in the off peak slot. I’ve raised this with Fuse who are currently looking at why this has happened.
My main issue is why can’t the Ohme app schedule correctly. The Mercedes app has scheduling disabled and as far as I can see, Fuse doesn’t allow scheduling on this tariff that I’m on. Totally baffled.

As far as I can see.
I’ve manually set the off peak / peak times and rates, and set to ‘do not charge above off peak’ rates.
This is currently see on the app, which is corrrect. It will finish charging at 08:30 (in the off peak period. However upon plugging in it will start charging within a few minutes.

Ohme chargers seem to be trying too hard to be clever, and then not really working...
Does the car have scheduled charging ability?
If so, I would set the Ohme to dumb mode (no cars paired, no tariffs, just "on") and schedule via the car.
So a little update.Does the car have scheduled charging ability?

After raising the issue with Fuse (my energy provider) regarding being falsely charged for a session where it failed to charge the car, they have replied with the following-
‘We no longer have a specific EV tariff and since your car and charger are linked to your energy account there may be a conflict. We suggest you unlink your car and charger from your Fuse account and set the timer via your Ohme app. We have credited your account with £5 as a gesture of goodwill’
So it appears the issue may lie with with Fuse, because they are no longer supporting smart tariffs.
I haven’t tried the resolution they have suggested yet as I’m not at home until next week, but hopefully unlinking my car / charger from the energy account should fix it.

You have dynamic charging on yet your tariff is not one with lower costs outside of the window. Not sure 100% as i am on IO but have you tried turning dynamic off?
Also you didn't specifically say you added your tariff here:

Yes tried all options toggled on / off. Also you didn't specifically say you added your tariff here:
The Fuse tariff wasn’t automatically populated in Ohme, but you can manually add the tariff so it mirrors what you have.
As a test, have you tried setting the target to a lot less than 100%, just to see what happens - a target just 70% or 80% etc.
I'm thinking in case it thinks it cannot guarantee getting to 100% by the end time, and therefore wants to start earlier. Probably not the cause, but worth ruling out.
My Ohme set-up starts and finishes within the cheap time and rate parameters set - I had to input manually as the EDF deal doesn't seems to show - but quick to do and largely works fine (other than recently it has stopped reading the start or actual battery % - which I'm assuming is some change between Renault>API>Ohme). But not affecting when it starts.
Prompted by the images posted earlier I've just checked and Dynamic Charging is ON - I hadn't even noticed this / can't recall why that is. I always set charging via Ohme App - and EDF is not dynamic like OIG/IOG/whatever it is - so perhaps the setting is needed to allow Ohme to shift the schedule as they wish (within targets set by me) - or maybe irrelevant for EDF. No idea!
Good luck.

So OP here, unlinked my Fuse account (energy provider) to my Ohme charger and Mercedes Me account, and it scheduled perfectly. Set to 01:30 - 08:30 off peak window and charged to full as expected.
The only discrepancy was I set to charge to 100% in the Ohme app, but it only said 81% charged in the Ohme app when finished. However the car was charged to 100%. Not sure if anything to be bothered about.
So hopefully all good to go. Although I m set to jump to another provider hopefully this week. Probably Eon Next Drive. Hopefully no issues there.

Rather than start a new thread, anyone else using the Ohme charger and having issues with the API's?
We're pretty new to this but when the charger was installed, the missus paired her car to the app/charger (Volvo C40) and I tried (unsuccessfully) to pair mine (VW ID.3). To be fair I don't really use the home charger as mine's charged at work, but I did try to pair the VW again in case I do want to use it, and it failed again ('Something went wrong'). Tried all the usual update apps/reset stuff but an online chat with Ohme had them telling me it's a known issue they are working on, and to be patient.
Now the missus Volvo has dropped off and the Ohme side won't read the battery level etc so she has had to unpair and manually enter battery %.
It did charge her car last night, first time since she's had to manually enter battery left, but why does the whole thing seem so s
t?
In addition to the charge issues, the app often gives messages like 'no charge data' when it has clearly been charging the car, and then randomly updates to show some charge data later in the day.
We were hoping to be able to see just how much juice the missus car is using once the charger was installed but at present I have very little confidence in the accuracy of the figures it's giving us.
Are we doing something wrong or is the Ohme system just a load of crap?
