Tyres for 550 Marrenello
Discussion
From a TVR perspective I found the S03s to be much better than S02s - The sidewalls are much stiffer so they ride a little harder and may tramline a bit more, but the grip was every bit as good and they felt much more progressive.
Goodyear Eagle F1s are another possibility or the new P Zeros?

I have SO2s on the 456. Quite like them in the dry but they can be a bit aquirmy in the wet. They seem to be lasting longer than I expected too. They're barely worn after 8K miles; Pirelli PZeros on the 360 lasted 5K miles from new to down to the wear marks, so I suspect the SO2s are quite hard.
Hughjayteens I had S02's on a Tuscan which I used to own and the front-wheel nervousness under breaking (any braking) was one of several reasons why I got rid of it. Maybe Bridgestones are just not for me.
Thanks guys for your comments though. I will give one of the suggestions a try.

Manu, you seem to know loads about Ferraris mate. I have have just gone from a Tuscan to a 550. Am I wrong in saying that the 550 M (without handling pack) is not sharp enough on the turn in and the back end suspension needs lowering a few inches to eliminate twitchiness? Could this be the real issue and not the tyres (although my front ones definately need replacing)? Or am I making an unfair comparison
ITECSOL!!!!
Welcome to the board mate. Trust me - I don't know anything about Ferraris except how to make them sound the way God and Enzo intended. The owners on this board (I'm not one of them) have a collectively encyclopeadic (sp? ) knowledge of Ferraris and on ferrarichat those guys could probably build them!
I must confess that I never really got to grips with performance driving in the way some of the other Ferrari owners on this board are capable (ahem 456GT )
I thought the rear-end was planted unless you're aggressive with the throttle and moreover ASR will not let the car get 1 degree sideways unless you switch it off/sport. I would never have known to be honest but my biggest fear was the front end washing out (which only seems to happen at really sharp low speed small-roundabout type scenarios.)
Anjum drove a 550 with the FHP and he said it was amazing but it tramlined.... perhaps over-stiff. Also I heard from another 550 man that with the FHP it's just tooo low....
