Campsites opening times
Discussion
I think most of the campsites are opening Friday 5 June @ 09:00 as per ticket below. (FWIW sign on the gate @ Arnage last year said 08:00, the gates actually opened at 09:00)
And yes, at least for Arnage there tends to be security about who may let you in if you catch them awake
Think this really depends on the campsite - BSJ is so big I doubt they close the gates. Arnage there are possibly no gate controllers, just the security chap, so you may need to park outside for a couple of hours.

Many thanks for this. I will be camping at Mulsanne, so imagine it will be a similar situation to Arnage. And yes, at least for Arnage there tends to be security about who may let you in if you catch them awake

Fingers crossed. I always used to camp a Mulsanne . . . loved it there. Big screen, nice bank, decent corner (pizza and cold beer at https://www.lazzaro-pizza.fr/ )
For me it lost a tiny bit of it's magic when they cut a loads of trees down . . . and also when they enlarged the run off area . . . but it's still good.

I think the changes at Mulsanne have largely been benificial (for once). Significantly more spectator banking than there used to be, unlike say Maison Blanch where hospitality has eaten more and more every year till there's almost nothing left - and they haven't blocked off the track side section between the car park and corner, which has to be about the closest you can get to the cars going at any speed.
I take it you have to 'loop around' to get to Lazzaro Pizza - don't think there's a way out at the corner end of the viewing area is there?

There is a gate on the southern edge of the Mulsanne site (near the spectator bank and food tent) that spits you out onto the industrial estate. 2 minute walk to Lazzaro from there.
Another Le Mans secret learned. And looks like there should be places to get a fresh croissant for breakfast not much further away too, to round out the night racing...

Depends. If you're just a specator walking in with a GA ticket then yes, as the spectator banking is accessed via the campsite.
If you rock up dragging a tent and full camping gear behind you, well you might find someone following you to make sure you're not trying to camp for free. (Although all the gate staff seem to be interested in are that vehicles have passes so I sometimes wonder how much you could carry/drag in before someone said anything!)

Ta, I’ve considered Mulsanne if I stop sulking over the loss of Tertre Rouge and go back to Le Mans, the lack of security puts me off thoughIf you're just a specator walking in with a GA ticket then yes, as the spectator banking is accessed via the campsite.

Yes, there's a friendly bakery next to the supermarket the other side of the corner/roundabout - but due to the road closures, it's a bit of a hike (better with a bike)And looks like there should be places to get a fresh croissant for breakfast not much further away too, to round out the night racing...
