I’ve found a very nice Bentley privately, but in talking with the older owner confessed he’d had the Romanian lot around who had done their standard oil on the manifolds and in the coolant scam.

He’s getting the coolant flushed and the engine cleaned - car is a very good price, so I’m tempted.

Are issues easily resolved or could they prove to be complex on an ongoing basis?

It's a reverse scam, he's Armenian and the headgasket really has gone.

If it's a 6.75 engine car they're notorious for head gaskets blowing so be careful.

If it were you or I that were selling the car, and we had fallen foul to 'the scam', we would already have had the coolant flushed and engine cleaned so no need to have this chat with other potential buyers. Why would you not?

Guy was very open, he’s older and retired, he’s got it booked in to his local garage tomorrow and was honest on the call about the issue. He didn’t need to tell me.

Talk directly to the garage, or just leave it.
