Can’t help you with finance or scooter aspect , but I got what I thought was a very good deal by buying the previous yr model of bike that had been in the showroom a long while that they obviously wanted rid of as the new year models were arriving , only thing I’m not sure of how that will effect the value in the future , will it be valued as a yr 25 model or by the 26 plate on it , no difference in bike between a yr 25 & yr26 other than colour .

I'm currently looking at a previous year model that is.cirrently discounted by £1700. Were you able to haggle any further on the price when you got yours? Just wondering how much room for further negotiation there is when already receiving what seems to be a pretty decent discount. Can't help you with the finance bit, but I had a 2025 xmax techmax. It was brilliant, rode really well, I even did some long days on it.
The tech bit works ok, can be a bit temperamental sometimes with being able to control stuff. I was averaging 90mpg and I didn't hang about.
If you get one, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
Ideally want it to commute to the airport, staff parking for cars are nowhere near the airport then require a bus to get on Scooter parking is available outside the airport!
In that case, spend some decent money on multiple locks and a quality chain. Ideally want it to commute to the airport, staff parking for cars are nowhere near the airport then require a bus to get on Scooter parking is available outside the airport!

Commuting is great on them, as long as the weather is ok, can be a bit grim in the winter. But the weather protection on the xmax is pretty good and they do have bar mitts and the scooter skirts you can buy for them.
Worst time to commute on a scooter is weather like today, when you’re roasting your nuts/back/etc off in 30 plus degrees!
Never understand why so many look down on maxi scooters, they’re brilliant things for getting about. Room to leave your kit on the bike, quick, economical and good weather protection.
You may find a dealer won’t accept a credit card for payment, so I’d check before applying.

Good point. That 2 or 3% the credit card charges could be make or break for the dealer.Rather than trying to squeeze the bottom line why not save yourself money longer term by haggling a deal on servicing, accessories or any new riding gear you want? Dealers always have more flexibility on this.

Just on the credit card point . I asked a dealership if a card payment was ok if I paid their fees . They said yes it was 4.5% .Rather than trying to squeeze the bottom line why not save yourself money longer term by haggling a deal on servicing, accessories or any new riding gear you want? I asked them to check and confirm and then as I worked for a bank at the time I was able to check their actual merchant fees.
The fee at the time would have been 1.35% so I did not deal with them and no bike was bought.

Maxi scooters really are great. I've had a BMW C400GT, Yammy Xmax 300 techmax and I now ride a Honda XADV 750. With the first two I also had a 1000cc bike in the garage. But I just never seemed to bother riding it, I'd take the scooter 99% of the time.Never understand why so many look down on maxi scooters, they re brilliant things for getting about. So I got rid of it when I had the xmax, now with the XADV, I sort of have the best of both worlds, a scooter that goes and handles far more like a 'proper' bike.
I still get looked down on by other, so called real bikers though. Do I care, nope, I'm loving my two wheel stuff more now than I have over the last 5 yrs or so. And I rode bikes for many '000's of miles in my police career.
The mainland Europeans have it right, ok, they generally have better climate for it as well, but the maxi scooters are literally everywhere.
It's a very british thing to think that scooters and scooter riders are inferior in some way. We're all on two wheels. It's far less of a 'club' now than it's ever been. Becoming very secular.
Sorry, hijacked the thread a bit. Hope you sort it all out. Pics when you do
It really is a weather thing for the UK
In retirement I am spending lots of UK winter time elsewhere and it's amazing how you don't need to go far for such a difference experience.
I am not taking southern Spain in January, February and March. You basically need to be about 450 miles into France and the winter is still bike and scooter friendly.
Hence it's so much more common to have big scooters.

The reason I like the idea so much is for ease when renting on the continent. Perfect to get around, rev and go and easy to park. Some decent gear for the UK and it’ll be a great setup.
The space in them looks great too. Leaving everything under the seat and walking into work sounds bliss!
