Hi all, can anyone help with obtaining a rear hub for my Vixen. Not sure if this is a TVR unique part or sourced from Triumph. Thought it might be TR6 but the ones I have seen look short in length compared to the on on the car. Any help much appreciated.

Hi, thanks but it's the flange that the drum brake fits on with the studs. Might be calling it something it's not

The flanges were TR3 (Obviously TVR is independent). Note that the back plates change dependant on the version of upright as there are different machined parts Grantura 3 through Vixen 3. The uprights were 'acquired' from the Elva courier. A@

Is your hub damaged? They don’t typically break and there is nothing to wear out so it’s unusual to need a new one. They are often extremely difficult to separate from the quill shaft and you need to be careful not to mushroom the end of the quill shaft if you are using a heavy press.
New ones are available from Rimmers and Moss and probably most other Triumph specialists. Just search up TR3 rear hub.
Tbh if you are fitting a new hub I would suggest fitting a new quill shaft from Nigel Reuben at the same time. You’ve got to strip it all down anyway, it saves you the effort of trying to separate the hub and the shaft and you have the peace of mind of knowing that the quill shaft is done.

The only issue I have seen on that hub is that the threads on the studs fail, (unless they have been damaged attempting to pull them off the stub axle), then, if you are stripping down a hub, changing to pull through studs would be the way forward (I have never left threaded studs in the OE flanges).
I gave up with the Vixen upright and replaced the casting to accept the TR6 bearings. A@
