Service History (paperwork)

Hey guys,
I am considering putting my 997 up for sale next Spring and just wondering about service history. I am the 2nd owner and have all the service paperwork from my ownership but all I have from its previous life is the service book that has been stamped by their local Porsche Centre.
This was enough for me but I do wonder if I should attempt to get copies of the work done each time? Or am I over thinking this?

It all helps so for a few phone calls I would try. A lot of dealers don't becuae of GDPR so some do and will blank out the personal details before emailing it to you. Am I right in thinking most dealerships scrap the paperwork when they take a car on (from part ex or auction) due to GDRP? This was the first car I didn't buy privately and assumed that was the case, I'd ask for a service history printout from the Porsche Partner Network (PPN) this will give you the exact date, mileage and work carried out including warranty, plus the dealer number for everything done to the car from PDI onwards. There is nothing on the printout that would affect GDPR.

This.Bought my 996 recently with 17 stamps, half from an OPC and almost all the others from the local village garage (annual oil changes on almost no miles) and a Porsche specialist for recommissioning. Buy the seller. You've taken care of it and so did the previous owner if it has the stamps.

For me, Full Service History (which adds value) would include all past invoices, to show exactly what has been done and when.
A stamped service book is nice, but as said, this could be falsified and contains no detail.
I would politely contact the previous owner for assistance in recovering any missing service invoices.
Although, can some vehicle checks not access the on-line service information ?

I fastidiously keep a service history for all my vehicles, contained in an A4 ring binder with plastic pockets in date order and a separate box file for sundries. When buying a vehicle it always gives me great comfort to see a detailed receipt history. I also take huge pleasure in reading through it. It is a shame that GDPR has curtailed some dealers retaining such information.
Why dealers cannot. or will not. take copies and redact the personal information. It definitely adds to the appeal or price I would pay.

That's what I have done with my previous cars. Every invoice or receipt goes in the file and any work I do I make sure I put the date and milage on the invoice of when I fitted the part (or changed the oil etc).
