Moling a water pipe?
Discussion
Had around 60m moled late 2024 (but back garden), 25mm supply pipe between me and my neighbour to replace the leaky 100 year old shared supply.
Required 5 or 6 pits if I recall.
Hit some old tree roots and and popped out of the ground where they didn't expect it to
Took the guys 4 days to complete
Just over £5k inc vat (NE Cotswolds)
(original quote before extra/overs was £3.5k)
Depends on what is in the way / gets hit etc.
Also.. check that whoever you use is an approved contractor /whatever scheme your local water company require to avoid any issues when it comes to having the final connection done.

Slightly o/t
Our supply is old and I wouldn't be surprised if it's leaking slightly.
But it runs under the house, there's no realistic route around without an awful lot of making good after.
Is it possible to mole under the house, which fortunately sits several meters above, and about 30m from the location of the water meter.

You would probably be better of running a new one where you want it rather than dig up and move it.
If it can be moled you should be looking at around £1k depending on how easy the connection is each end.
I should have been clearer. There is no existing supply to my garage, so it would be running a new pipe from the house under the drive to the garageIf it can be moled you should be looking at around £1k depending on how easy the connection is each end.

We had 20m done for a gas pipe from a new underground tank to the house.
It was only about £1000 three years ago.
They hit a rainwater underground pipe and an electricity cable right by the house. They had no clue what there were doing and no safety precautions.
I think you need to choose the contractor much better than I did .
