I have enough ZF Lifeguard fluid 8 left over from our Rangerover to fill up my freshly rebuilt 1998 T5 box, can anyone tell me if this is first suitable and second a good option, please?

I read years ago that fully synthetic is not really recommended in the T5.

Thanks for the reply, I think I've also read that somewhere, Shame as it costs a fair bit and will sit on the shelf forever now!

ZF Lifeguard 8 would be more oil than the T5 could ever throw at it but frankly I wouldn't chance it, modern auto trans (ZF HP8-9) have very different needs and requirements to Dexron 2 /3 using auto trans of old for example T5 paper/fabric based coated synchro reaction would be my worry even if Lifeguard 8 is dealing with Raybesto's style clutch plates in an auto trans , just saying how bad you want to find out?
