The stop- start- stop F1 season is back on, and we re in Canada. A proper circuit will plenty of walls to punish any errors. This will be a more challenging race than Miami for the power units, so expect a bit more super-clipping.

All eyes will be on Antonelli and Russell as George won here last year and he needs to get the show on the road. I ll be interested whether Red Bull can keep up its recent progress with the RB22. And Williams/Alpine will be worth watching. Mclaren is bringing more updates and Norris is my tip for the win.

Here s to a great race.

Thanks as always for the thread PiaP.
No option to vote for a Piastri win?

thanks as usual PiaP. I think Mclaren will be strong here. also hoping that the Ferraris are there or there abouts
PS- is that the correct circuit map, or has the circuit been changed this year?

Thanks PiaP smile

With signs of RB revival, I'd like to see Hadjar have a strong race. Think he and any RB number 2 driver is overdue a performance.

This is the first real test of the regulation tweaks.

Will they be enough? Or, will the relative lack of heavy braking mean that the cars will be energy deficient?

Thanks PiaP beer

As ever I've gone for Kimi but I wouldn't be surprised if we see a different winner. Let's hope for a good race.

Seeing this thread got my hopes up that the race was this weekend. Unfortunately have to wait another week.

Can't really see past Mclaren or Mercedes, unfortunately I think Ferrari will do a Ferrari, get our hopes up with one of their lightning starts but then go backwards as the race progresses. Might even throw in a dodgy strategy call too.

Thanks PIAP, though you may want to swap out last years' Miami results for the Canadian ones wink

Norris to break the run of Mercedes wins.

Hamilton on the podium on a circuit he loves.

Russell 3rd after Kimi succumbs to the pressure. However I do enjoy the seeing the underdog beating the experienced team mates in F1.

Yes, that's what was mentioned last race.

So I really think that Mercedes are going to dominate Canada.

I heard on the grapevine that they won't be using any updates this weekend. paperbag

A dependable grapevine or a clickbaity one...?

Given that they've remained ahead of McLaren without applying any updates so far, as and when they do update, if it's even slightly positive they should be well clear.

I think it's quite likely that by the midpoint of the season McLaren might pass them in terms of performance - but it'll likely be too late then to swing the points balance. Until next season, but no one really seems to know what might change next season so...

Thanks PiaP. A great boost. Reality is back after the depressing PM threads.
