My circumstances have changed meaning I need a more practical car, so I've settled on a lovely little Suzuki Swift Sport to act as our little runaround car. It's in "championship yellow" with a 1.4 litre turbo engine, 975kg, and because it's a 2019 model it's just before they went mild-hybrid.

It should be delivered next weekend which I'm really looking forward to!

Here's a pic from google images in the meantime:

Well it arrived! But my gosh the yellow is BRIGHT in the sunshine and the girlfriend loves the look of it. I was tempted by white but I’d have always been wondering “I think I should have got yellow”.

Only plans are a CTC remap and potentially a different backbox to make it slightly louder. Nothing crazy because I don’t like OTT exhausts. Just something tuneful sounding.

That looks great! Yellow definitely suits it. I’ve always liked the Swift Sport. A mate hate one of the previous shape, and I had a short drive of that. Brilliant little thing. So good that Suzuki managed to keep the weight down with the newer car.

I fear you may be a magnet for bugs with that colour though!

I've owned a 2014 Swift Sport and test drove a 2018 model- the newer car is slightly quicker but, not as chuckable as the older model ( though that was probably the dealers fault for putting cheap tyres on it).

I do really like them them and you just know they're going to be reliable but, the Fiesta ST exists- and its just better.

The Swift is is lovely though, and still much fun to be had.

The fiesta might be faster but I wouldn’t say it’s a better car. The Swift is much nicer to drive on anything but super smooth tarmac and it isn’t common as muck. Nothing quite like the low weight of them!
