2017 c63 estate
Discussion
Afternoon all I’m new to the group
I’m currently looking at getting a 2017 C63 estate 4.0 V8 it’s done 50k
I’ve read some good things and bad things about them
I’m just wondering what everyone’s thoughts are regarding them.
I currently have a CLA45 shooting brake and had no issues with it.

Tremendous car. Not as good as the W204, but then im biased.
Do your due diligence and im sure you'll be fine.
Do Merc still provide a 2 year warranty for approved used AMGs? Might be worth the premium to buy from Merc if thats the case.
I wouldn't pay for a 3rd party warranty, just put money aside each month as a contingency fund.

Check service records, my '17 43 had a diff oil change circa 65k if i recall, that's a reasonably pricey service.
Check the suspension struts for leaks/misting on seals, my 17 had two new struts recently, get the reg and check the MOT advisory. They're damptronic, on the 43 I used Bilstein B4 which keep the DCC intact, circa £300 per corner plus labour.
Engines are very strong so wouldn't have too much worry there, nobody is driving a '63 hard relative to the engines capabilities unless it's on a track.
Honestly they're pretty bulletproof, so if fluids and S/H tallies then you can't go wrong.
Fuel prices though, you're brave haha

I have a 2015 C63S, its on 67k, bought it at 50-something k miles 4 or so years ago.
Pro's:
- Noise, never tire of starting it, and you can enjoy that rumble at ALL speeds, even just when driving around at normal speeds with family etc
- Interior is nice IMO, especially for the age it still feels decent
- Seats are nice if you get the buckets, lifts the interior IMO
- Its not too bad on fuel, I average 22 but do mostly all short trips,m have seen 30 on a run.
- generally reliable
Con's
- Interior has too many squeaks and rattles for my liking, maybe they aren't all bad but mine has some around the screen unit, I must get it sorted
- Naturally it's not cheap to run, servicing is expesive, parts cost alot, if you need any jobs it's not going to be cheap - so eyes open if this is your first M/AMG/RS car type
- Naturally it is quite thirsty, but again depends what you are used to and how many miles you do, and how fuel prices are
- Sunroofs can go, 2.5k job, but there is a guy in Surrey who is great and does it for half that
- Traction is an issue IMO, if its not summer. Winter/damp/cold it struggles for traction alot, changed tyres from MPSS to MP4S has helped a bit bu its really IMO hard to get the power down outside of peak conditions. It scares the wife a bit if it starts to move around.
Honestly I love mine, I simply can't think what I'd replace it with as it fits what I need from a car (which is small car but still seats 4 with 4 doors and a v8).
