Right so everything is sealed against weather, fumes, previous rust etc etc, so where does the breather pipe from the tank go? I presume it vents under the floor.?Better get the old drill out but where?

Dim recollection here but I think there should be a nice pierced rubber grommet in the boot floor directly under the tank for the breather pipe to fit through - think you'll need a new pipe though as they tend to get a little stiff & brittle after a few years worth of exposure to fumes - get a new tube match it up with grommet with tank twisted out of the way leave some slack , fasten tank back in then take out the slack from below & snip off to 2 - 3".....

Plate, weld, weld, plate, underseal, stuff, hole lost for eternity. Will drill new hole below tank. Yes ex pipe is brittle but WILL go back...
