I am looking for a mk3 mx5 for my son but 1.6 are more expensive than 1.8 / 2.0 versions. As I remember it when I used to have eunos roadsters this was never the case is there a reason for it ?

I didn’t think there was a 1.6 mk3/NC?

The mk3 or NC only comes with a 1.8 or 2.0 engine

Are no 1.6 in mk3 & the 1.8 is cheaper than the 2.0 as far less desirable

No logical reason the 1.6 should be more expensive, it was seen as the better engine in the MK1 as it was revvier if that makes any sense but not sure if that`s the case in the MK2.

I’ve had both flavours of 2.5 ie 1.6 and 1.8. The smaller one is ok but 1.8 is more flexible at low revs and therefore an easier everyday drive. Currently on third 1.8. Highly recommended.
