992.2 C2S spec
Discussion
I’ve decided to treat myself to a new 992. Initial thoughts were that the base model is more than enough car for my purposes. But, after adding a few options, I ended up closing the price gap to the S by about half, with some options (sports exhaust, Bose) being standard on the latter.
So, obviously, I’ve decided that I absolutely need an S - particularly as the residuals will likely be better.
My options list is pretty light, as I’m all too aware that price can start running away here, but so far I’ve chosen optional wheels, added Sport Chrono, park assist that my wife insists on, upgraded seats…
I know that is a great spec for my use, but there any glaring omissions that I’ll regret come resale?
It’ll be my only car - but I don’t drive more than once or twice a week.

Before you pull the trigger have a quick look at those in stock, there are substantial discounts where you'd get lots of extras included. This works if ok with being a little flexible on colour.
I certainly would, but I’m overseas and there is zero stock here, unfortunately. Skip rear axle steering unless you really carve canyons. Missing adaptive cruise? Big resale hit if you ever commute or hit traffic. Also, no mention of ventilated seats depends where you live, but sweaty back kills luxury feel. And get the lighter glass roof delete if you want headroom and weight savings non-negotiable for some buyers. Last thing: standard leather smells cheap later; at least grab the extended leather dash.

Great feedback, thanks. Yeh I forgot to mention ventilated seats & leather. I’m in Dubai so it’s essential! I suspect the next buyer will want it to commute, so adaptive cruise will be added.
A few simple things:
Power steering plus.
Side skirt painted - they look terrible without.
Top tint on windscreen (be civilised and have clear glass in rear windows).
Porsche crest on headrests (you'd be surprised how good this looks and how many people like it).
Mirror arms painted and matching window trim - this cuts down on the amount of scratchy plastic on show at waist height.

The adaptive cruise is crap at low speed really. Unless your idea of good is accelerating with gusto only to then slam the brakes on again when the car in front slows. Works better on a motorway but even there it accelerates too hard for my liking, I never use it around town.
Extended leather if not a standard thing is a must, the interior kit so to speak of modern Porsches are pretty poor (all the steering wheel buttons and indicator stalks are golf from 2015 level) on the bits you can t change IMO, so at least make it as leathery as possible. It s the same stuff in my Macan as it is in a 911 ST which I find hilarious.
Oh and the parking system is also terrible, sensors s
te but cameras fairly good, and for god sake don t let it try and park itself, I would have had a 5 figure bill had I let that happen without intervening.

For a UK spec car, I would add adaptive cruise control, an increasingly necessary aid with the proliferation of average speed limits. I have had this fitted on my last three 911's.
It looks ugly AF on the .2 so avoid. Badly integrated.I would add,
- Bose
- Surround View with Active Parking Support (works well and the cameras are high resolution)
Here's my spec: https://porsche-code.com/PTQLH3A3
Shout if you have any questions.

What are substantial discounts?I’m in the market for a GTS and just started the search. Was thinking used, but if a good deal on new I’ll prob go for that as flexible on colour and spec
