GAP Insurance recommendations
Discussion
I’m collecting my new car on Friday, just looking at some GAP insurance. Has anyone used the following please? And has anyone had to actually use these if the worst happened? How was the process and did they pay out as expected?
Ping
Sura
Coffee insure
Ala
Tidy alloys
The cars brand new from a dealership, I’m guessing return to invoice is what I need incase it’s stolen/written off?
Thanks Dave

I ve used ALA, didn t have to make a claim but when I sold the car before the term was up the pro rata money owed to me was refunded with no issue. I would them use again.
I’ve seen ALA mentioned a lot on YT all with 10% codes. Just looking again & I’m not sure if it’s worth adding bodywork/alloy wheel cover on there though it hikes the price right up. More worried about the shortfall as it’s PCPFollowing with interest.
I've ordered a 2 yr personal lease vehicle and have been wondering about taking out GAP insurance. Anyone else done the same? Or not bothered and either took the risk, or didn't see the need?
I don't want to get stuck in negative equity if the worst case scenario happens, and I assume my car insurance will only pay out market value?

I used ALA once on a RTI policy , pretty cheap but never had to claim - very easy to buy though.
Most Insurance policies get you in a brand new car within the first 12 months which is why most GAP policies are for a 3 year term of which year 1 is doubling up on cover in any case.
I have an agreed value policy on all my cars though so no need for GAP.

Bit of a thread hijack but just done a quote with ALA for an incoming business lease car. Our first ever new car so all a bit new to this.
Deposit 12mnths (£3k)
35 x £317
So in the ball park of £14k in total lease costs
List price: £50,896.
ALA quote is "recomminding" £30k of cover. Is this enough when the list price of the car is £50k?
