Father in-law runs a clearance business and got a load of JLR parts, showroom items, etc, including display engine internals and these big (maybe 80cm long) silver models of the F-Type, XF and XJ.

Anyone know what they are from? First thought was scale wind tunnel models, but I asume if they were they'd have wheels for having on rollers.

Might be, but they seem very large and heavy for that?

Maybe apprentice built models. I have a lot smaller version on one on a plinth. But suspect wind tunnel like the other poster suggested.

I'd say colour tests or dealer / test colour demonstrations.

Looks like the mould tool for making the colour chips - would think it is made of aluminium or similar
